2013 the pioneering work of fashion designer Yves Saint Laurent was celebrated in ‘Yves Saint Laurent, a visionary’, at an ING exhibition in Brussels. So we decided to seize the opportunity, united our forces and invited you to join us for a fun and cultural day in Brussels, combining art, fashion… and shopping.
A little review to our 2013 trip to Brussels
After arriving the city, we started our trip with the guided tour about the iconic French designer who had an immense contribution to fashion, set the trend in the 1960s and 1970s for women’s fashion.
The exhibition did a nice job showcasing the vision of YSL: patterns, press articles, jewellery, accessories, rare sketches, production drawings, the majority of which never displayed before, straight from the archives of the Fondation Pierre Bergé – Yves Saint Laurent. They focused primarily on his successes from the 1960s and 1970s and approximately 100 displayed items recount his triumphs.
Lunch took place at Mamy Louise. They offer a great choice of salads as well as a number of Belgian specialities. Friendly staff makes Mamy Louise a great place for an enjoyable high quality lunch or dinner and the right place to stopover during your shopping on avenue Louise.
After lunch we strolled along the streets and started shopping. Brussels shopping is not limited to chocolates and beer. You can sample the highest quality boutique shops and the most eclectic mix of goods at Brussels markets!
During the shopping tour we provided the group with advice on latest trends, colours and styles for the different body shapes.
Heading back to Luxemburg first class and happy after a great day in Brussels.
